The 4th Annual Tap Water Taste Test will be held once again at the BCWWA Annual Conference. Similar in many ways to wine tasting, 'aqualiers', or water taste professionals, judge water samples based on appearance, aroma, taste, mouth feel, aftertaste and overall impression. Stop by the Conference Centre Tuesday morning to see if the District of Hope will keep their title, or if a new municipality will be crowned the “Best of the Best” Tap Water in BC and Yukon. This is one event you won’t want to miss!
British Columbia and Yukon drinking water providers are invited to submit a drinking water sample. Judging will take place the morning of Tuesday, May 30, with the winner announced at the BCWWA Lunch Awards immediately after the taste test.
There is no cost to compete, however, registration is required for participation. For more information and to register, please click here.

In honour of Canada's 150th anniversary, the BCWWA's 2017 Annual Conference is focused on Reflect. Engage. Lead. To reflect on our past, the BCWWA will have an archive display at the conference highlighting the water and wastewater industry's past.
We invite municipalities and water providers to participate in this archive project. The BCWWA is asking water providers in British Columbia and the Yukon to lend archival photos and materials to help visually depict the water and wastewater industry's past accomplishments and lessons learned.
We need the support of librarians, archivists and history enthusiasts to build this temporary display for the May BCWWA Conference.
Deadline to participate is May 1.
What are we looking for?
• Archival material you have already created
• Historic photos - digital
Aquilibrium is a simple looking game involving plastic tubing, buckets and water. The goal – distribute water equally between three points on a grid using a network of pipes. Created as a means to bring awareness to water distribution in rural South Africa, this game is now a high school competition across South Africa and is used in university classes as a teaching tool. We are very pleased to have Dr. Kobus Van Zyl, creator of Aquilibrium at the conference. Conference attendees have the opportunity to try out the game and post their best scores. Dr. Van Zyl will also be speaking on how this game can be used as a public engagement tool.
