Thanks for your question. The Drinking Water Protection Regulation has the following clause contained within it:
"11. For the purposes of section 15 (b) of the Act, a water supplier must prepare and make public, within 6 months of the end of the calendar year, an annual report of the results of the monitoring required by this regulation, its operating permit or the drinking water officer."
Therefore, it would appear that the results of the water quality monitoring (which include at a minimum total coliform and ecoli counts) are required to be made public. If you are unable to obtain access to this information we would recommend that you contact your local Health Authority and determine who the Drinking Water Officer is for your water system and outline your concerns.
