best of the best

The BC Water & Waste Association held its inaugural Tap Water Taste Test at our Annual Conference & Trade Show in 2014. The event is a great way to draw attention to the high quality and great tasting drinking water produced by our members throughout BC and the Yukon. Similar in many ways to wine tasting, 'aqualiers', or water taste professionals, judge water samples based on appearance, aroma, taste, mouth feel, aftertaste and overall impression.

Every year since it was introduced, the Tap Water Taste Test has attracted a wide range of entries from across the region and the winners have earned media coverage in major outlets. In 2014, the City of Kelowna won top prize, in 2015 it was the City of Chilliwack, the District of Hope in 2016, and last year the Village of Zeballos took home the award.
