2019 Operator Continuing Education Day & Trade Show Recap

Thank you to everyone who attended the 2019 Operator Continuing Education Day held on November 27 in New Westminster - we appreciate your contribution to making the event the success that it was! The event, which we host every year, provides engaging education sessions, hands-on equipment demonstrations, and plenty of networking opportunities in a relaxed environment.

This year's CEU Day began with an address from BCWWA's own Marian Hands. The event included many breakout sessions, which were divided into 4 themes - Water Treatment, Water Distribution, Water Collection and Wastewater Treatment. These breakout sessions addressed water-sector related topics such as safety, biosolids, infrastructure, water metering and dealing with the new Maximum Acceptable Guideline (MAC) for Manganese.

Our keynote speaker, Spencer Snowling, delivered a deeply informative presentation on the path forward in Hands-On Operator Training. Many of our sessions provided opportunities for hands-on learning and collaborative problem solving. Another highlight was the trade show, where many of our exhibitors had elaborate booth set up featuring interactive equipment. Attendees were also given the opportunity to stop by and say hello, as BCWWA had a booth as well!

We’ve uploaded our album for the event, which you can access by clicking here.
