In 2017, Health Canada released a document for public consultation on lead in drinking water that proposes reducing the maximum acceptable concentration from 0.01 mg/L to 0.005 mg/L. The BCWWA’s Drinking Water Technical Advisory Committee drafted a response to the proposed changes and the updated Guidelines for Canadian Drinking Water Quality are expected to be released this spring.
