WHO SHOULD ATTEND

The Operator Continuing Education (CEU) Day will provide you with relevant and engaging continuing education that helps fulfill your CEU requirements while connecting you with others in your field.

Programming is designed for operators from all water and wastewater disciplines from small to metro-sized facilities and all levels of experience. The day is organized in the four streams of water distribution, water treatment, wastewater collection, and wastewater treatment, with seasoned experts moderating each stream.

Attending Operator CEU Day qualifies for 0.6 continuing education units.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

The Operator CEU Day planning committee has pulled together an informative and fun program for the day, featuring a number of different presentation types and a fantastic array of speakers.

Among the highlights from the event are our two plenary sessions:

Do you think like a leader? Doug Mauger and Glenn Galey

Doug and Glen will be talking about practical leadership techniques all operators can use, whether in a managerial capacity or in everyday working life. They are both instructors for the BCWWA Management & Supervisory Skills course and also work in Instructor Development.

Water utilities during crisis, Lane Simon

Lane will be sharing his moving firsthand account of water operations during the 2016 Fort McMurray wildfires, when he stayed behind with first responders to ensure that the water stayed on. He is an experienced operations professional who has worked for leaders in the pulp and paper industry, such as Tolko and Fabco.
