Request for Quote (RFQ) for Research Services - Cross Connection Control (CCC)

The BC Water & Waste Association (BCWWA) is accepting quotes for research services regarding CCC programs in BC and the Yukon. This research project will inform strategic planning and operational decisions related to the BCWWA’s Backflow Tester certification program and support of CCC community programs.

ABOUT THIS RESEARCH PROJECT

KEY GOALS

1. To provide the BCWWA with information regarding cross connection control programs in BC and the Yukon, that will inform the current state and guide future investments and strategic decisions.  

2. To provide analysis of the current legislative and regulatory environment from the perspective of its impact on Community CCC Programs and the BCWWA CCC Program.
   
   

PROJECT OUTCOME

The project aims to better understand the current condition of cross connection control programs within BC and the Yukon through four components: 

1. Understand the number and type of current cross connection control programs in BC and the Yukon.

2. Understand why other jurisdictions do not have a cross connection control program.

3. Understand legislative and regulatory impacts and opportunities related to cross connection and backflow testers.

4. Understand the risks and opportunities for the BCWWA.
   
   

SCOPE OF WORK

1. Surveying communities throughout BC and the Yukon, including municipalities, regional districts and selected, larger First Nations communities.

5. Conducting research as required.

6. Compiling data and producing a final report with recommendations.
